Four Steps

1.         Use the person’s name.

2.         Tell them how you feel.

3.         Why do you feel this way? “Because …”

4.         What you would want them to do

differently. “Please…”

 

  

Telling IN versus Telling OUT

 

Telling IN (Tattling)

You don’t have a problem.

People are safe.

Nobody needs help.

I’m telling to get someone in trouble.

 

Telling OUT (Reporting)

Someone is having a problem.

Someone is unsafe.

Someone needs help.

I’m telling to get someone out of a problem.

 

 



Class Rules:

1.  Raise your hand to talk.

2.  Move safely around the room.

3.  Quiet voices while working.

4.  Eyes and ears on the speaker.

5.  Respect bubble space.

6.  Be gentle with your words and body.
